Machotaildrop

This looks awesome. Like "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" with skateboards. I see OG Alex Olson and Rick McCrank, there's probably a lot more cameos as well.

Best Video Game of 2009: Trevor

Hands down, without a doubt, Skate 2.
I bought a Playstation 3 just for this game because I heard it played slightly better than the Xbox 360 one.

I want Skate 3....now!

Where The Wild Things Are

My roomates (my brother and his girlfriend) took a mini vacation, and I had to babysit/hang out with there dog for the 3 days, which I don't have a problem with at all, he's the best!
When they got back they gave me this book for taking care of Cash (dogs name), awesome!

I am beyond pumped to see this movie when it comes out!

p.s. the 7th Girl/Where The Wild Things Are skateboard is on its way to complete my collection!

Bad Karma

I absolutely love this video!
Some guy with a gun tries to start something with some skateboarders...for what looks like no reason at all. Instant bad karma!
If you are a skateboarder, or used to be, you will appreciate this video because you know what its like (maybe not with a gun) but you have had your shitty days of people getting in your face just because you have a skateboard.

Enjoy!

Classic Skate Video Parts: Globe - Canvas

This is such an incredible find. I haven't seen this video since I lost the tape probably 9 years ago. For such a random video it ended up being one of my favorites of all time. Featuring Heath Kirchart, Guy Mariano, Gershon Mosely, Rodney Mullen, Mike York, Andrew Reynolds, Ryan Wilburn and Jeron Wilson, this movie takes place on a road trip in Australia. This video is really a documentary and not a skate video, maybe that's why it felt so important to me. A lot of the commentary has stayed with me all these years. If you've never seen the video or haven't seen it in a while, do yourself a favor and watch it.

Eric Koston on Nike SB

I'm sure a lot of people called this one. Now it's official.
“Not only am I psyched to be a part of the great group of guys that makes up the Nike SB team, but I’m equally as excited to work with them creatively. I’m sure many people know that a lot of different Nike’s have been the inspiration for my shoe designs over the last 12 years, so I feel like a fucking kid in a candy store when it comes to this partnership between Nike and I.” - Eric Koston

Dog Pull Skateboarding

When you have a dog that is really strong and has a lot of energy you have to come up with ways of tiring it out so that they don't start destroying things every chance they get. My dog Cash is exactly that type of dog. The best methods of tiring him out so far have been: chasing a laser pointer (every dog owner should have a laser pointer), using a horse whip with a ball on the end (also known as a "flirt pole") and getting him together with another dog. While those are all excellent activities, they don't allow any real companionship between dog and owner. My good friend Evan recently built up a skateboard with some risers and big soft wheels for his dog to pull him around on and has been enjoying his dog pulling him around for the last couple weeks. I had Cash pull me before on my skateboard, but the speed he can run and my small hard wheels don't mix. This weekend I decided to go out and get a wider deck, some risers and some softer wheels and set up a deck specifically to have Cash pull me around, combining excellent exercise for him and my love of skateboarding.

Here we go.

I almost lost it on the speed wobbles.

Jason Adams "Miller High Life" Enjoi deck, Bones "filming" wheels and Independent Trucks.

Happy dog.

Trevor testing out the ride.

Tired dog.

Classic Skate Video Parts: Fulfill the Dream - Chad Muska

This video killed it when it came out, I watched it a lot and was always impressed by how young most of the team was. But there's no way anyone could ever dispute Muska being the star of this video. This shit came out and EVERY kid had the white/red Muska board and the Muska track pants. The best product I think he had out at the time were his shoes, Trevor used to claim that they were the reason he learned to kickflip. Now, years later, his Supra Skytops are one of the most hyped and sought after shoe in skateboarding. Watching this part right now just makes me want to go skateboarding. Maybe I will this weekend.

Danny McBride Learns to Skateboard

You may remember an earlier post I made about how Danny McBride is the funniest guy ever. Here's another video proving that statement.

Also, if you have HBO and haven't checked out Eastbound and Down yet, what are you waiting for? It could quite possibly be the funniest show in the last 10 years. I wish I had HBO, but I don't, so I have to watch the show online. Which means if you're reading this then you have no excuse not to be watching it immediately after you read this, ok after you watch this clip.

A Winters Tale

After a week of around -40 degree weather we were finally having some nice temperatures here, which made me happy because I hate winter and snow, and I want it so be summer so I can go skateboarding! I got my hopes up of maybe being able to skateboard soon...then it goes and snows all night and most of the morning! Dammit! I am tired of this shit.

A look at the snow from our porch.

The backyard.
Someone else who can't wait for the snow to melt.
It might be awhile before my Derek can use his new bike.

I'm gonna go hit the couch because I feel like crap!

Alien Workshop Mind Field

Alien Workshop has been a fantastic skateboard company for a very long time, so when I heard about their new video Mind Field, obviously I got excited, also the fact that there was a few guys who rented a little hall to do the premiere was awesome. Alien Workshops other video, Photosynthesis was amazing, one of my favorites.
Last night Kent and I went to the premiere, and to say the least we were not disappointed, it was very good! The whole layout of the video, the editing...everything except the music, which was kinda wierd, maybe I am just saying that because its not the style of music I listen to at all, I dont know, but I dont watch skateboard videos for the music, I watch them obviously for the Skateboarding. The actual skateboarding in this video was awesome! The parts in my mind were just a little to short. Like Mr. Rob Dyrdek, I very much enjoy watching him skateboard, everything about his skateboarding I like, I just would have liked to see his part be like 2-3 times longer, but it wasnt, and I still liked it.

Go buy this video, watch and enjoy!
